"Mark & Deborah Bohland Love Children and Art".
In addition to having four children ranging in ages from 12 - 21,
Mark & Deborah have been accused of never growing up
themselves. "Childhood is such an enchanting time - it's a
shame to completely leave it."
Deborah has been an artist since the earliest days of her
childhood. She designed the border of the image above. It is her
eye and artistic insight that affects much of the direction of
Maranatha Photography.
As a artist, Mark is the late bloomer. He has always loved
beautiful things, but was convinced that what was in his head
could never come out of his hands.
Then he discovered Photographic Portraiture. Since 1978, what was
in his head has been coming out of his hands and through
his camera. Using light (and mostly natural light), Mark
creates portraits that are recognized by the way they depict who
children are, and not just what they look like.
"Having really never grown up, is a definite asset when
photographing children. Being able to interact with children on their
level allows me to create portraits that are much more than mere
pictures."
